Kismet means alignment.

When something just fits like it was meant to be. That’s what a great strategy should feel like. Not forced, not formulaic, just right. It’s accretive — layered over time, strengthening everything that follows.

Kismet Strategies helps people and companies communicate with purpose. We uncover what’s essential, shape it into strategy and messaging, and make it connect inside and out.

Sydney Portigal is a writer, communications strategist, and brand thinker who believes in the power of precise language to shape identity and meaning. She works at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and culture, helping brands and individuals articulate who they are and what they stand for. Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, Sydney graduated with a Political Science degree from Emory University.

Her career began in program management and business operations at The London Stock Exchange Group before transitioning into public relations and communications, most recently at Milk & Honey PR. Sydney has worked with a wide range of clients: smaller firms, like impact investor NESsT, to larger, global companies like LELO and Intimina. Along the way, she saw a recurring need: people and teams who were doing meaningful work but needed distinct messaging and strategy to stand out in today’s saturated world. That’s why she started Kismet Strategies.

Sydney’s approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on impact. She helps clients cut through noise, clarify their voice, and create strategy and messaging that supports growth. With a lifelong love of narrative, food, and art, she’s driven by the belief that the way we communicate reflects what we value.
